League Two Calendar, Dates & Schedule 2022/23: Stockport County Marks Football League Return Against Barrow and Salford Host Mansfield | Football news

The 2022/23 League Two season kicks off on Saturday 30 July as Stockport County marks the Football League’s return home to Barrow, as promotion rivals Salford City and Mansfield Town clash on a greedy opening day.

National League champions Stockport, who are a favorite for consecutive promotions, host their first League Two game in 11 years against Pete Wild’s Barrow.

Meanwhile, Salford, under the direction of Neil Wood, will receive a visit from Mansfield, last season’s play-off finalist, as they both try to reach League One this season.

National League play-off winner Grimsby Town heads to Leyton Orient as Bradford City promotion candidates welcome the newly relegated Doncaster Rovers to Valley Parade.

AFC Wimbledon and Gillingham meet on opening day after both dropping out of League One as Crewe, who finished bottom of the division, travels to Rochdale.

Unlike the league, League One and League Two will continue as planned throughout the Winter World Cup, although matches may be postponed depending on player involvement in the tournament. The season will conclude on Saturday 6 May with the play-off final scheduled at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 27 May.
